Elevators & Escalators

TTE’s Elevator division were instrumental in the design, supply and installation of two elevators and the public escalator at the Expo 2020 Peru Pavilion located in the Mobility District. The elevators offer a capacity of 800kgs each, serving four stops with a speed of 1m/sec. The escalator, on the other hand, is known to be one among the longest at the Expo, featuring a single 20m long structure extending across all three floors within the pavilion. For installation purposes, owing to its open-roof design, the team of engineers from TTE had to install a temporary roof of steel within the pavilion, raising the escalator to a lifting height of eight meters. The job demanded a non-stop 36 man-hours on-site, which the team successfully accomplished working in shifts and completing the project with perfection, great agility and coordination. Featuring a bold colorful fabric exterior, the Peru Pavilion is a representation of the country’s transition through history, and the many influences that have shaped its identity. The pavilion recently celebrated 500k visitors, taking the number of footfalls on the elevators and escalators to more than 600k.
